About the event

Richmond Woodie Whoopie

Come join your fellow ACBS members for an awesome day in the Bay Area! This is a non-boat event and is meant to be a great way to connect and have fun without the stress and expense of bringing your boat.

We will start the day at the Rosie the Riverter Museum at 1000 AM.

1414 Harbour Way South,

Suite #3000/Oil House,

Richmond, CA 94804

Phone: 510-232-5050 Ext. 0

The museum is a tribute to all of the men and women civilians who served our country during the war effort. It is a National Park and it is free. The museum has interactive exhibits and movies for all to enjoy.

From there, we will drive approximately 2 miles to the Point San Pablo Yacht Club

700 W Cutting Blvd, Richmond, CA 94804

where we will have a hosted catered lunch by Locos Only Eats.   We will enjoy lunch out on the deck and have a No Host bar available to us. The lunch will consist of a variety of taco meats and a gourmet taco bar with salad, beans, rice, guacamole, chips, and malasada’s for desert. Lunch cost will be $40/person to cover the food and the venue. Please bring a raffle item to share as we will be hosting a raffle with the proceeds going directly into the Philanthropy account.

At 1:30pm we will then head over to the Red Oak Victory (less than 2 miles away) 1337 Canal Blvd., Berth 5

Richmond, CA.

This is an actual Victory Ship from WWII ship with a steam turbine engine. Guided tour is a $20 donation (cash preferred) and would include a tour of the engine room! If you don’t want the engine room, it is a $15 donation. The ship has a great history, and member Layne Davis and I actually towed the ship back and forth to California Maritime Academy to have the boilers serviced and brought online. For those that have mobility issues, Riggers Loft Wineryis located next to the Red Oak Victory in the same parking lot. They have wine, hard cider, music, and outside seating overlooking SF Bay. When people finish up at the Red Oak, they can drift over there for a glass of wine. This will not be as organized and more of a come and go as you please part of the day.

To finish the day off, we have been invited by Terry Moran from Wooden Boats for Veterans to have a cocktail on the historic Yacht Clover at the Sugar Docks in Richmond. The sugar dock is between the Red Oak and the freeway and is literally on the way home. This will be a casual come and go as you please open house event with an open invitation from 3-5pm.

We hope that you all will join us for this exciting new ACBS event in Richmond. Please RSVP no later than July 1, 2023 so we can get an accurate head count for the catering.
