Late 50's Sorg Rough Water Boat

Description:

Free boat and trailer, a project looking for a home.

The boat is a late 1950’s Sorg Rough Water Boat, outboard with no motor.

Here’s a Facebook page for the Sorg boats:

https://www.facebook.com/sorgroughwaterboats/

Hull is in good condition (just needs paint on the outside, varnish on the inside) and comes with much hardware and misc. wood parts.

The story is that an older man was restoring the boat, but passed before he could complete the project.

Trailer has a space saving swinging tongue and comes with registration paperwork.

Included are photos of another similar Sorg outboard that shows how nice the boat can look with a little work.

Boat is currently in Lafayette, CA

Navarro 3x2 Aluminum Intake for Ford V8 Flathead Boat Motor

$1,000

Navarro 3x2 Aluminum Intake for Ford V8 Flathead Boat Motor - $1,000 (UPS Ground shipping included to 48 states and Canada): Intake is approx. 60 years old - an "original" Navarro intake made in the 1960s for my late father (an engine builder, machinist, racer, and flathead specialist most of his life). I cannot assess whether or not it has ever been used.

The story -- My father was personal friends with Barney Navarro in the 1960s and 70s when he ran his race shop in Los Angeles (and Norwalk, CT prior to that). When cleaning out dad's garage, my mother told me that my father was building race engines for cars AND boats... and that the intake was found in a box that had been packed in Los Angeles no later than the mid 70s. Believe the "2040" stamped on the intake was for a custom build order # with Barney. Some following conversations with "those in the know"... and they're in agreement. Very rare boat intake... would run great on a 1940s-50s era wood racing boat like the one in the picture (running a 59AB Ford flathead V8 with a 2x2 intake... he should upgrade to my 3x2!!) below.

The carb bases and stud holes are on an angle - so that the 3 carbs lean forward, but would be level under forward motion in your boat. No cracks or flaws. I was going to keep this intake and polish it (and maybe use it on my boat), so I lightly buffed (not polished, just buffed) 1/3 of the intake to see what the surface might look like if polished... see the pictures. If you buy it - you should polish it, it would be beautiful and perfect. This would look and run great when polished.

P.S. I will donate $250 of the purchase to the ACBS Tahoe Chapter.
